The prizes of life are at the end of each journey, not near the beginning; and it is not given to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goal. Failure I may still encounter at the thousandth step, yet success hides behind the next bend in the road. Never will I know how close it lies unless I turn the corner.
The words above are from Scroll III in Mandino’s book The Greatest Salesman in the World. This passage really resonates with me as I grow my network marketing team, especially as our company expands nationally in January 2015. I know that belief does not come from success. Success actually comes from belief. The correct order is BE, then DO, then HAVE. Because of my belief, I am persistent.
Always will I take another step. If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth, one step at a time is not too difficult.
I used to be a good distance runner. When it came time for speed work, my track coach used to say near the end of practice, “Anyone can run one more 200!”
Henceforth, I will consider each day’s effort as but one blow of my blade against a mighty oak. The first blow may cause not a tremor in the wood, nor the second, nor the third. Each blow, of itself, may be trifling, and seem of no consequence. Yet from childish swipes the oak will eventually tumble. So it will be with my efforts of today. I will be liken to the rain drop which washes away the mountain; the ant who devours a tiger… I will persist until I succeed.
To achieve my Definite Major Purpose, it takes persistence. I am creating a “Life by Design”, with a happy balance of work, play, workouts, and family. I am proud to help people earn Free Energy and Free Mobile Phone Services, and also to help people make life-changing money. I am elated to be a Servant Leader who knows, goes and shows the way, and because of this I am very wealthy for life. I cheerfully share my opportunity and create productive networkers by teaching them exactly what to say and do to be successful. I continue to do this, regardless of how long it takes or how many times I am told, “No Thanks.” I am persistent.
So long as there is breath in me, that long will I persist. For now I know one of the greatest principles of success; if I persist long enough I will win. I will persist. I will win.
In summary, to have persistence, you will need: (1) A definite major purpose (DMP) backed by a burning desire, (2) A written plan of action (WPOA) expressed in continuous action, (3) A positive mental attitude (PMA), with your mind closed to all negative thought, and (4) a Master Mind Alliance, such as the course I am in with my group, or it can be communication with an individual with whom you are in total harmony.
From James Collins:
Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.
I have come so far already. Today I begin a new life.
It is definitely time to ‘Think and Grow Rich’.
