You can’t claim your reward, if you continue to cling to what you lack. We reap what we sow, exactly.
We must entertain only desirable thoughts (e.g. success, servant leadership, kindness). We must use only harmonious language. The Law of Growth tells us this:
Law of Growth: Whatever we think about grows. What we forget atrophies.
Knowledge does not apply itself. Our actions are governed by habit. This week we took on a new habit, to do (and document) at least two kind deeds every day. It was fun. Early in the day, I found myself thinking of the goal and seeking to ‘Do It Now’ just to finish the task. But once the daily requirement was met, I found it easy and fun to do more kind things for more people.
As we learned earlier in this MKMMA course from James Collins:
Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.
What an appropriate choice for this week, kindness. When you give more, you get more. Sugar, not vinegar. From Og Mandino:
I will increase my knowledge of mankind, myself, and the goods I sell, thus my sales will multiply. I will practice, and improve, and polish the words I utter to sell my goods, for this is the formulation on which I will build my career and never will I forget that many have attained great wealth and success with only one sales talk, delivered with excellence. Also will I seek constantly to improve my manners and graces, for they are the sugar to which all are attracted.
I have come so far already. Today I begin a new life.
It is definitely time to ‘Think and Grow Rich’.
Thomas Brooks
This made me think of Matthew 10:39 that says he who clings to his life with lose it, but he who gives it away for my sake will find it. (roughly paraphrased 🙂 ) I am enjoying this week of noticing kindness!
Yes you can’t claim your reward if you cling to what you lack, thankyou!
This week is GREAT!!!
Great post. You are absolutely right. When you give more you get more. Give more kindness get more kindness. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, you reap what you sow!
Love your quote from Og. As someone who has been in sales his whole life, I found that quote to be so inspiring. AND kindness has been at the forefront of all my thoughts and actions this week. We are so blessed. Have a great week,
