I will live this day as if it is my last. And what shall I do with this last precious day, which remains in my keeping? First, I will seal up its container of life so that not one drop spills itself upon the sand. I will waste not a moment mourning yesterday’s misfortunes, yesterday’s defeats, yesterday’s aches of the heart, for why should I throw good after bad? Can sand flow upward in the hourglass? Will the sun rise where it sets and set where it rises? Can I relive the errors of yesterday and right them? Can I call back yesterday’s wounds and make them whole? Can I become younger than yesterday? Can I take back the evil that was spoken, the blows that were struck, the pain that was caused? No. Yesterday is buried forever and I will think of it no more.
The preceding words of Og Mandino are in Scroll V in The Greatest Salesman in the World. As my company is in the midst of an exciting national expansion, I must live each day with focus right now. I cannot wallow in regret about yesterday’s missed opportunity, or a time in the past where I did not say the perfect thing in a presentation. I am improving my skills and efficiency today to enable myself to take advantage of all of the opportunity on the table as we expand nationally and offer new mobile phone services in addition to energy. It is a very exciting time. I have everything I need to win right now.
I will avoid with fury the killers of time. Procrastination I will destroy with action; doubt I will bury under faith; fear I will dismember with confidence. Where there are idle mouths I will listen not; where there are idle hands I will linger not; where there are idle bodies I will visit not. Henceforth I know that to court idleness is to steal food, clothing, and warmth from those I love. I am not a thief. I am a man of love and today is my last chance to prove my love and my greatness.
Growing continually in my network marketing skills gives me the confidence to reach out to people. As my team sees the manifestation of my skills and confidence, they imitate me and bring more potential Associates to the table. Our short company video does 97% percent of the work, and I have the ability to do the other 3% in terms of mitigating the false perception of risk in the mind of the prospect as he/she begins their own “Hero’s Journey“. The battle cry is “Do It Now!”
If we are living each day like it is our last, will we not have kind words for our children? Will we not have a loving embrace for our spouse or significant other? Will we not be supportive of our friends and their dreams? Will we not refrain from complaining? In short, we would be industrious. We would be thankful. We would be kind. We would make it the best and most meaningful day of our life if we knew it was our last day.
I am elated to be a Servant Leader who knows, goes and shows the way, and because of this I am very wealthy for life.
I have come so far already. Today I begin a new life.
It is definitely time to ‘Think and Grow Rich’.
